Studio Tamani

Studio Tamani is a daily news radio program on Mali which since August 2013 has been offering daily news bulletins in 5 languages ​​(French, Bambara, Peulh, Tamasheq, Sonrhaï) lasting 12', a major program 45' debate series Le Grand Dialogue, and 3' topical or thematic magazines. Informing and creating dialogue with “All the voices of Mali”, in order to find consensual solutions to the conflicts that are weakening this country at the heart of the Sahelian crisis, is the ambition of Studio Tamani.

All Studio Tamani content is produced by a team of 30 Malian journalists based in Bamako and a network of 45 correspondents across the country. This young and multicultural team, reflecting the country, was recruited, trained and supervised by experts from Fondation Hirondelle. It produces the 3h15 program every day during the week (1h15 in the morning, two hours at the start of the evening), and one hour on weekends and public holidays. It is broadcast live by 85 partner radio stations across Mali. The program “Le Grand Dialogue” is also filmed and broadcast by cable television channels in Bamako. This national broadcasting network was set up as part of the partnership between Fondation Hirondelle and URTEL (Union of Free Radios and Televisions of Mali), which is behind the creation of the Studio Tamani project. The editorial staff of Studio Tamani regularly welcomes trainees within the framework of an agreement with the university training structures of Bamako. This contributes to the training of a new generation of Malian journalists, on the ethical and professional bases defended by Fondation Hirondelle.
